TalkPoint: the HR Forum, exclusively for the Leader of HR:

TalkPoint held its first HR forum meeting in early 2003.  Our specific purpose is to reinforce the capability of the HR Leader.  Over the years, TalkPoint has become Australia's pre-eminent HR Forum for the Leader of the HR function of large organisations.

Many Human Resources Leaders feel their role is isolated:

Isolation takes two forms:

  1. Do you ever sense their might be a 'wisdom gap' between the HR Leader and your staff?  Whilst most HR departments are full of, bright, knowledgeable and technically proficient people, frankly what is often lacking for the HR Leader is the ability to share with HR staff who have wisdom,  experience and commercial perspectives required to solve complex issues.
  2. As the HR Leader is privy to many secrets, there is regrettably political risk internally to unburden and share the business problems and concerns, gain a reality check or ask a colleague how they might seek to handle a sensitive issue. 

That's where TalkPoint's style of HR forum comes in:

Whilst there are other Human Resources forums, one of the main points that has differentiated TalkPoint, has been the intimacy of the Member Meeting experience. 

When the HR Leader joins TalkPoint, each Member is allocated to a specific small Group. 

So rather than joining an HR forum that is unwieldy and too large, each Member meeting has a purposely designed smallness to it. 

All Members attending their Group meeting find the intimate HR forum style of the Member meeting one in which they can openly and confidentially share their pressing business problems. Often discussions centre on which consultants or experts they should use in a situation, or, how to influence other senior level people or the CEO and Board and spark curiosity on topics they might not have even thought of.
