TalkPoint was formed with the specific purpose to reinforce the capability of the Human Resources Leader:

TalkPoint launched early 2003.  Since then, TalkPoint has become Australia's pre-eminent Human Resources community, exclusively for the Leader of the HR function of large organisations.

There has never been a better time to be a Human Resource professional. Finally Boards and CEOs are realising the main point of difference is no longer the processes and systems, not merely the products and services.  Indeed the magic of an organisation really happens when an organisation's Human Resources are well managed and strategically aligned for the current and future direction the business wants to go.

Human Resources at the Executive Table:
At TalkPoint we never really 'bought in to' the notion of the Human Resources Leader needing a seat at the table.  Frankly it's our view our Members need to have the posture and the belief they are executive level professional who happen to have significant years of experience in business sand commerce and industry that just happen to have a sophisticated Human resources lens to the work.

However the HR Leader is under ever increasing pressure to keep contemporary and ensure their organisation's Human resources programs and strategies are relevant, appropriate, commercial, yielding returns and maintaining competitive advantage throughout people in an increasingly globalised and competitive world.

For each of the last several years TalkPoint has organised over one hundred meetings, specifically designed to help the HR leader do just that!

The opportunity cost of not keeping up:
As a result of the GFC, many HR Leaders are now also grappling with smaller, downsized departments. There are therefore fewer internal resources and perspectives that yield fresh, new Human Resources strategies and programs.
